The Role: Technical Recruiter

Svante is a rapidly growing company that has created a technology to tackle one of the world’s largest issues by enabling commercial-scale carbon capture to become a reality in fighting climate change. As our company grows it is vital we bring in those whose experience and skills match our needs but also those who share our passion for what we do. We are looking for a Technical Recruiter who will be able to dedicate the time to understand the company’s recruiting needs, build lasting relationships and find top talent candidates.

The Technical recruiter will be driving the full-cycle recruitment process while working alongside the HR department and hiring managers to create successful recruitment talent strategies, and sourcing for candidates to join the Svante team.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Managing the full-cycle recruitment process – drafting job descriptions, advertising available positions, pre-screening candidates, participating in the interview process, and conducting post-interview debriefs
  • Pro-active in sourcing for top-talent candidates through job search websites and universities
  • When needed, work with outside head hunters and staffing agencies
  • Conduct regular follow up with managers throughout recruitment process to assess the success of recruiting strategies
  • Work with the HR department to negotiate and write up contracts
  • Partnering with hiring managers to asses talent needs and advising on talent strategies to attract the right candidates
  • Proactively maintaining talent pipelines while also ensuring a positive candidate experience
  • This position will require flexibility on working hours to reach candidates, and build international relationships

Competencies required (knowledge, skills and abilities):

  • Experience: minimum 3 years’ experience in technical recruiter role, whether in house or recruiting agency
  • Ability to understand technical requirements for positions such as engineering roles and research and development roles.
  • Experience recruiting for engineering and chemist roles preferred
  • Education: Diploma in related field or relevant experience – experience for this role is more relevant than education
  • Must naturally espouse Svante values and believe in our goals and objectives
  • Proven track record of recruiting in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills and strong active listening skills
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in establishing cooperative working relationships both internally and externally
  • High level of initiative
  • Good time management, with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills, including ability to build credibility and trust
