The Role of Process Simulation Expert
Level Reports to: Dynamic Simulation & Modeling Lead and Director of TSA Process Cycle Development

The Process Simulation Expert will analyze data requirements for dynamic simulation along with dynamic model results. The main focus and responsibility however, will be developing a robust dynamic model through verification steps, improving existing models and optimizing in development of continuous improvement culture.

The Process Simulation Expert will work with the heart of Svante’s technology, R&D department process team and Material Development & Testing team to be able to analyze required characterization and process test data for dynamic process simulation.

Working within the framework of Svante Values and Goals, the Process Simulation Expert will be critical in reaching the targets Key Parameters Indicators to fully reach the commercialization phase.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develops dynamic process modeling and performs simulations in Aspen Adsorption or equivalent programs.
  • Evaluates measured data and oversees data transfer for analysis.
  • Detail level analysis of scientific results, prepare technical reports, recommend, and identify verification and optimization methods.
  • Analyzes product requirements and determines process cycle design.
  • Contributes to TSA cycle design brainstorming sessions.
  • Carries out other process engineering-related tasks and projects as required.

Key Qualifications:


  • At least 2 years of experience in gas adsorption related fields (university or industrial research) preferably process simulation
  • Experience in PSA or TSA design and development
  • Proficient with Aspen Adsorption modeling platform, ProSimor equivalent programs.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in establishing cooperative working relationships both internally and externally
  • Engineering degree preferred, registered with APEGBC


  • Excellence in converting characterization and process test data from the laboratory to the simulation platform and detail-level data analysis
  • Excellence knowledge of gas adsorption phenomena
  • Demonstrate Heat & Material Balances (H&MBs)
  • Demonstrate written and oral communication skills in English
  • Good time management, with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • PhD or MSc (Chemical Engineering degree preferred)
