The Role: Process Analytics & Technical Support Engineer
Currently we are looking for a Process Analytics & Technical Support Engineer who will monitor and analyze operational data from Svante’s pilot and demonstration plants for process and operational improvement, material degradation and failure mode analysis. In this role you will be involved in all phases of a capture plant process, from new application evaluation to process development and design, plant commissioning and initial start up and testing.
As our new Process Analytics & Technical Support Engineer you will:
Monitor and collect operational data from pilot and demonstration plants;
Analyze test data and generate operating performance curves;
Develop and execute test plans from operating plants in close cooperation with other team members;
Prepare reports and update regularly on plant KPIs and communicate with shareholders;
Participate initial commissioning of new plants and troubleshooting of existing plants;
Provide feedback to design and development teams to improve the plant efficiency or operations;
Provide feedback to R&D teams to improve the TSA cycle efficiency, bed lifetime and rotary valve design;
Perform techno economic analysis (TEA) and evaluate the capital and operational cost of projects during the pre-construction phase;
Perform operating cost analysis of a plant;
Work closely with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers to develop PFD and P&IDs;
Participate process development and design activities. Apply the principles of mass; momentum and heat transfer to process and equipment design, including conceptual, scheme and detail design;
Participate process hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP), and assesses the safety and environmental impact of the plant;
Carry out other related tasks and projects as required.
To perform your role successfully you will travel to plant sites ~20% annually.
At least 5 years of experience in gas separations related process development and design;
Experience in plant operations, data analysis and troubleshooting a plus;
Experience in FEED studies and TEA a plus;
Working knowledge of computer aided-design equipment and computerized processes such as Aspen Hysys.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
