Cement & Lime

Industrial Process: Cement & Lime

Typical CO2 Concentration: 16 – 20% and above

Why Cement

Compliance – current: EU ETS & CBAM

Value-added products – green cement and CBAM impact on EU imports

Near-term focus on EU and firms exporting to EU

Cash flow enhancement & stability to improve competitive positioning

Capture Integration

Cement process integrated with Carbon capture

Advantages of Svante Solutions for
Cement & Lime Industry

Minimal Impact on the Environment

Air permits are key consideration – EU focus highlights need for social license

Robustness to Contaminants

Cement/lime represents on of most challenging flue gases for particulates

Compact Equipment

Cement/lime plants often located where social license/community impact is clear

Electrification

Svante can fully electrify capture – important advantage for EU market

Pulp & Paper

Industrial Process: Pulp & Paper

Typical CO2 Concentration: 14 – 16%

High quality carbon dioxide removal (CDR) via bio-capture

Atmospheric COz is absorbed by trees in sustainably managed forests or by sugar cane

Pulp and paper and sugar cane mills use wood / biomass residue to make heat and power in operations

Biogenic COz is captured from stack emissions and permanently sequestered or sold for e-fuels production

Negative emission credits are sold in the voluntary carbon market – in addition to value from low carbon intensity products and/or exported carbon-free energy

Why Pulp & Paper

Opportunistic: new revenues & growth from biogenic Carbon Dioxide Removal Credits (CDRs)

Cash flow enhancement & stability to improve competitive positioning

Capture Integration

Cement process integrated with Carbon capture

Advantages of Svante Solutions for
Pulp & Paper Industry

Low-Grade Heat Utilization

Pulp and paper mills are typically long on waste heat

Integrated Project Development

New business and value chain together with balance sheet constraints make this critical

Robustness to Contaminants

Complex feedstock leads to variable flue gas composition.  Prevalence of particulates

Minimal Impact on the Environment

CDR offtakers are keenly focused on overall environmental footprint.

Operational Simplicity & Flexibility

Industrial sites with dynamic operations and unfamiliarity with large chemical plants

Compact Equipment

Low profile equipment consistent with Mill configurations – community acceptance
