The Role: Filter Assembly Technologist
Level Reports to: Program Manager

Department: R&D

The filter assembly technologist will work under the R&D Program Manager in Bed assembly team to ensure the delivery of the filters according to the R&D master schedule in addition to completing all relevant documentation. The quality and delivery of those filters are essential to the success of the R&D program. The filter assembly technologist will work in a cross-functional team and have full access to the testing results and post-mortem analysis if requested. Svante is based in Burnaby, BC (near Vancouver, BC), but will be looking for the right candidates across Canada.

This filter assembly technologist is responsible for representing Svante Goals and Values to internal and external customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Manufacture filters according to the build request and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
  • Procurement and inventory management of all materials needed for the filter assembly
  • Test chemical and mechanical properties of filters as needed.
  • Thorough and accurate documentation of the filter assembly process based on data management procedures
  • Work with Bed Assembly team and customers to achieve deliverables in the requested timeline
  • Create SOPs and standardize methods using Lean manufacturing
  • Present and discuss results to team members
  • Create experimental reports summarizing tests results
  • Assist and participate in the design and testing experimental instruments and equipment

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3 years experience in a manufacturing or R&D laboratory environment
  • Knowledge: key understanding of safe laboratory practices, experience handling chemicals, hand tools, and hands-on building highly desired, understanding of chemical & mechanical property testing beneficial.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel

  • Education: Mechanical, Chemistry, Physics, or other relevant work experience
