The Role of Director Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
As part of the senior management team, the HR Director develops the company culture and sets strategic direction on employee development. This will involve the creation and implementation of innovative and progressive organizational development strategies that create a positive working environment, including the use of state-of-the-art technologies and approaches for enabling new hybrid work models and enhanced engagement. Central to the role will be the responsibility to support our Core Values and develop a reputation as the best place to work in our industry. Also key will be the creation of a “learning organization”, with a commitment to a continuous improvement, and “getting it right”, vs. “being right”. Core to this will be ongoing professional and personal development that will help employees develop a growth mindset and become recognized leaders in their fields and highly collaborative team members. The HR Generalist and Technical Recruiter report to this position. Specifically you will oversee:
Recruitment of world class people
Embodiment of Core Values
Organizational development to support strategic goals
Professional training and development, and performance management
Compliance with legislation and regulations in all jurisdictions
Best practices that support HR strategy
Compensation and incentive programs
HR infrastructure and admin
Education: Degree in business, specializing in HR preferred.
Experience: 7 to 8 years’ experience in mid to senior management positions, with prior experience in the field of Human Resources/Organizational Development at a senior level. Experience in a hi-growth hi-tech environment is required, and US HR experience is preferred
Strong technical skills in HR management, including Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, Organizational Development, Training, and Personnel Administration.
Strong interpersonal skills combined with proven skills in building and sustaining a strong working environment.
The ability to establish effective relationships at all levels in the organization is critical.
Ability to influence a strong-willed management team to ensure HR practices are followed.
Outstanding presentation skills, both written and oral, are required as are strong group process and facilitation skills.
