Earth Day 50 Challenge @ EARTHx 2018
April 18-20, 2018 | Dallas, TX

Svante Inc. (formerly Inventys Thermal Technologies) participated along with a diverse group of approximately 100 corporate, environmental, academic, and philanthropic leaders in two full days of frank and genuine discussion about how to take the next steps on a positive path toward a sustainable future.

Panel: Can Carbon Capture Help Save the World?

Meeting the global goals to avoid the worst impacts of climate change will require important technology breakthroughs and deployment by the middle of this century. Capturing carbon from industrial sources and power generation, finding uses for captured carbon, and scaling technology across the world are significant challenges. Critics of carbon capture, utilization, and storage suggest it will never be ready for prime time. But others argue that we will not reach global emissions goals unless we crack this nut and scale it across the world. This panel will discuss efforts the participating companies are making and the innovation opportunities they see.

Panelists:

  • Brett Henkel, Svante Inc. (formerly Inventys Thermal Technologies)
  • Charlene Russell, Occidental Petroleum Corporation
  • Rich Masel, Dioxide Materials
  • Andrew Himes, Carbon Innovations
  • Bob Perciasepe, C2ES [Moderator]
